???
Timecube - "Since I have informed you of Nature's Harmonic Time Cube 4-Day Creation Principle, your stupidity is no longer the issue. For now, the issue is just how evil you are for ignoring Life's Highest Order, and just how long the Time Cube will allow you to plunder Earth before inflicting hell upon you."
Alma Mater
Alpha Theta Coeducational Fraternity - My fraternity, of which I am a fanatically loyal alumnus.
Dartmouth College - Dear Old Dartmouth...I learned a lot and had a really good time here. It's cold, and the metal scene is nonexistent, but I highly recommend it to anyone shopping for colleges.
Anime
Animefu - Bascially a huge database of anime reviews. Since anime is so expensive, and since a lot of it is pretty bad, I rarely take chances without reading a few reviews or getting a friend's recommendation.
Inverse.org - This site has a good explanation of the cosmology of the Slayers universe, including information from books that have not yet been translated into English. It also has setting info, spell lists, character bios, and other Slayers stuff.
Comics
CerebusFanGirl.com - Cerebus used to be really good, until Dave Sim went off the deep end. Anyway, this site is pretty well-maintained and has lots of nifty links.
Jess Nevins' Comic Book Annotations - This site has very detailed annotations for Kingdom Come, as well as some other stuff.
Jhnonen Vasquez - Okay, I can't find a dedicated Jhonen Vasquez (creator of Johnny The Homicidal Maniac, Squee, and Invader Zim) website, but this is a pretty cool Johnny site with a gallery and everything, so you'll take it and like it.
Marvel Comics - My favorite comics. I know far more than is healthy about the Marvel Universe. This site has character bios, news on upcoming releases, and other fun stuff.
The Marvel Directory - This might be the best online database of Marvel trivia.
The Unofficial Chronology of The Marvel Universe - This may be the ne plus ultra of online Marvel reference resources. It chronicles the history of the Marvel Universe from the pre-Big Bang universe that birthed Galactus, up until Fantastic Four #1. I love it because it covers stuff like Cthon, Celestials, Eternals, Deviants, Conan the Barbarian, and all that other good stuff they mostly try to ignore nowadays.
The Villains of Marvel Comics - A cool (if a bit out of date) site with character bios of Marvel villains both major and minor.
Generators
The Page Of Generators - A bunch of random generators of mixed quality. I especially dig the anime-related ones.
Humor
Heroes - Captain America + Kevin Smith = Good
Irregular Webcomic - A webcomic that appeals to my geeky sensibilities with lots of gaming references and so on. Like most webcomics, but more so. This one is my favorite.
Kaiju Big Battel - As far as I can tell, this is some kind of cross between pro-wrestling and Godzilla movies. The site is bizarre. I must see this shit live someday.
Red Meat - This is my favorite comic strip. It's difficult to describe. "A sick, twisted, minimalist comic strip beneath a facade of 1950's suburban americana" begins to cover it, but fails to convey the delights of dead clowns and poop juice. You'll have to check it out for yourself.
seanbaby.com - Seanbaby's sense of humor is very much on the same wavelength as mine, therefore I deem it Good. If this site doesn't make you laugh, then I've called the authorities to arrest your subversive alien android impostor ass.
The Brunching Shuttlecocks - I didn't even know that shuttlecocks ate brunch, but I guess that's why my website isn't as cool as this one.
The Official Ninja Webpage: REAL Ultimate Power - "Hi, this site is all about ninjas, REAL NINJAS. This site is awesome. My name is Robert and I can't stop thinking about ninjas. These guys are cool; and by cool, I mean totally sweet."
The Onion - Just in case you haven't already heard of it. It's probably the second-funniest site I've ever seen.
The Terrible Secret of Space - Pak chooie unf.
True Metal Song Title-O-Matic - This is kind of like the black metal one, except Manowar-flavored.
Unholy Black Metal Song Title-O-Matic - This site disappeared a while back, but thanks to the Wayback Machine, we can cross the blazing goat surrounded by everlasting horizons once again.
Politics
GLBT Rights - Discrimination against Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgendered people pisses me off not only because it directly affects a number of people I care about, but because I consider it a symptom of a greater first amendment (my favorite amendment, in case you couldn't tell by now) problem. That is, the established notion that while we don't have an official state religion < wink, wink >, we cannot permit policies that run counter to the most popular interpretations of the "unofficial state religion." People who try to justify a particular form of discrimination with baseless (from my perspective, anyway) claims of moral legitimacy really rub me the wrong way.
Libertarian Party - The political party I hate the least. I like the general idea, but I don't believe that totally unfettered capitalism will really produce desirable results or that the USA can afford to stay out of world affairs to the extent that the party advocates. As Jonathan Tweet says, "...while the US political scene would be richer and more mature with a Libertarian voice within it, you wouldn't want them actually to win an election."
The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund - It's kind of scary how some people feel free to trample on the first amendment rights of folks involved in the comic book industry just because the medium itself has so little mainstream acceptance. People's lives have been ruined over this stuff. The CBLDF is there to help this particularly vulnerable (and often broke) group. Even if you don't like comic books, consider the comic book industry a "weak spot" through which all sorts of scary legal precedents can be set. Protecting comic books protects everyone.
Religion
Agnosticism - If forced to choose a religious/spiritual affiliation for myself, I'd have to go for "agnostic." I like to consider myself an "optimistic agnostic" in that I'd certainly like for there to be "something greater," (so long as it isn't fucking creepy) but have no particular reason to believe that there is. Yes, I'm well aware that "agnostic, libertarian computer programmer with a website" has become something of a cliche. ^_^
Star Wars
Star Wars Gangsta Rap - It's not the East Side or the West Side...
The Luke Side of the Force - This explains everything.
TV
All Things Philosophical on BtVS and AtS - This site explores the metaphysics of the "Buffyverse" and the ethical dilemmas that often occur there. Interesting, if a bit poorly-organized.
Aqua Teen Hunger Force - A cartoon about food products that solve mysteries. Sort of. Watch the clips...
BuffyGuide.com - The best Buffy: The Vampire Slayer site I've ever seen, BuffyGuide.com has a (nearly) complete episode guide, news, merchandise, character/cast bios, and a huge database of links.
Doctor Who Episode Guide - I haven't watched Doctor Who in about 10 years, but back when they used to show it on PBS every Saturday, I probably saw every episode (the ones that weren't destroyed, anyway) at least once. They keep talking about bringing it back, but I worry that its low-budget charm just wouldn't fly these days and they'd turn it into something awful in an effort to be "cool."
Firefly - Joss Whedon + Western + Space = Good. Mrs. Metallian and I loved this show, and we were all kinds of pissed when FOX cancelled it before airing all of the episodes. Luckily, you can buy it on DVD and someday you'll be able to see the movie.
Gargoyles FAQ - FAQ answered by Greg Weisman, the creator of Gargoyles. The show was really his vision, and so he considers his own answers "canon" and stuff that was done outside of his control (like most of The Goliath Chronicles) to be "non-canon." Works for me. There's a lot of interesting info in there, including stuff that was never addressed in the series.
Six Of One: The Prisoner Appreciation Society - "It is a trait most peculiar to The Prisoner that after watching the last episode, certain viewers feel a challenge to understand the series and have a desire to learn more about the 17 episodes that have so enthralled them. Many members have said that they thought they were alone in their appreciation of The Prisoner, until they learned of Six of One: The Prisoner Appreciation Society."
The Freakalair - A Freakazoid website with lots of quotes, cast and character bios, and more.
The Hall of Freakmobiles - Freakazoid! was a great WB cartoon that didn't last very long, probably because it was too bizarre for its Saturday-morning time slot. This site includes an episode guide, some trivia, and a guide to all of the obscure pop-culture references on the show.
The Lurker's Guide To Babylon 5 - A great B5 site with detailed synopses of each episode, news, and other stuff I haven't checked out yet.
The Simpsons Archive - This site offers episode guides, trivia, Simpsons news, and explanations of the many references and in-jokes on the show. It's also a very professional site that's been up for a long time. Highly recommended for any Simpsons fans.
